There are a few options. For people who don't want the animal back, the vets typically hold the bodies in a freezer until it's full, then send them out for mass cremation. Owners can request the body be returned for burial (as long as it didn't die of something like Parvo which would contaminate the ground), or they can request a private cremation, in which case they will get their animal's ashes returned to them in a decorative box (for around $125).

I believe that when an animal is put too sleep...they cremate the animal..that is what we were told when er had to put our dog to sleep..i still can not think about it without getting teary eyed!
It has been 10 years and we still miss her!!
Some people do take the bodies and have them buried in a pet cemetery and have a funeral and everything...I do not think i could do that..
some have them cremated and save their ashes in an urn as well

They will take it but I do not recommend this. At least for me I would not. I use to work for a clinic, when they put an animal to sleep that animal if put into I guess you would call it a barrel and they are dumped. You can have them cremated or most vets will let you bury them yourself. I have my Rott Cremated (private cremation) and it was 130.00 plus they put him remains in a beautiful box. Private cremation is just your dogs remains, public cremation is several dogs remains at the same time. Private is a little more expensive the public. Hope this helps

Usually the bodies are cremated but an owner can make arrangements beforehand if they wish to bury the body.

YOu can do either. I usually have my vet take care of the body. They freeze the animal and then send it to a farm out in the county where the animals are buried. The vet assured me that the animals are handled with respect and are not given to a lab for research.

As others have said: You can have a MASS cremation; a SINGLE cremation where you get the ashes; OR you can do a burial in a PET CEMETERY; or a PLACE OF YOUR CHOOSING. But just know that each city &/or county has it's own laws governing where you can burry a pet so you need to check with them or ask your vet first. We were not allowed to burry our sweet dog in our yard in the city but were allowed to at a relatives yard in a smaller town nearby.
If you are in the situation of having to loose your pet, I sympathise with you and wish you the best. It's a hard thing to do, but you have to think about the quality of your pets life. Don't think about the end but remember the good times.

Depends on what the owner wants. The owner can take the body or can arrange ( for a fee) for the vets to "dispose" of the body

you are given the choice, the vet can cremate them in a mass local council cremation, for a fee or you can take them home to bury.

You can take it with you to bury it yourself or they will cremate it and usually put the remains in a mass grave.

They either dispose of the bodies in a mass cremation, or you can get your pet cremated and they will give you the ashes, or you can bring it home for buriel
