Why are we in Iraq?

I have used my superior liberal intellect to surmise what you mean by your question. You are speaking figuratively. You are asking why America invaded Iraq.

As you can see by the first 2 answers, you will have to be more direct if you want a conservative perspective. Though it probably seemed to you that a dedication to single syllable words would insure breaking through the communication barrier surrounding the conservatives' vacuous intellects, I assure you it is not enough.

Here is my assessment of why we invaded Iraq:
-Bush needed an advisary. No leader can appear strong without one.
-Bush chose Saddam as his adversary because his dad defeated Saddam so easily and Bush knew most Americans had no affinity to Iraq.

So, Bush trumped up a connection between 9/11 and Iraq so that he could save us from Saddam.

There you have it. The reason we attacked Iraq. Too bad Americans keep getting seriously wounded and killed even now four years later because of Bushes inept administration of the war. But, at least he got re-elected. At least the war accomplished what it was meant to accomplish.

Oil is another likely reason but someone else already took that one.

Well, Buckwheat van Winkle, you seem to have been asleep or comatose for the past 4 ½ years. President Bush and his administration has been telling us the same thing since October 2002, the same reasons that he made the decision. He hasn't changed them, they've remained the same.

Iraq has/had? weapons of mass destruction,rich uranium,yellow cake,aluminum tubes from Africa...A nuke that Saddam was going to give to Al Qaida so they can blow up a major U.S city...Don't worry we found everything the war is over our troops were greeted with flowers hugs and kisses it's all over.....??? that or OIL....I don't know.....
