Eww--that brings back horrid childhood memories. Every time we went to the doctor, as kids, it seemed he told mom or grandma to give us enemas to "clean us out".
This became such an ordeal for mom and grandma that they FINALLY started buying laxatives instead--but still told the doctor that they would give us the enemas.

They are an effective way to relieve constipation but now we have easier and better ways to relieve constipation so you don't see or hear about them to often any more.
