You burn 500 caleries a day while exclusivly breastfeeding.
Some women lose weight likr crazy other don't. Personally, Ieat so much when I'm breastfeeding I don't lose any weight. I am constantly starving when I breastfeed! LOL

Yes. I breastfed three children and was back down to my pre-pregnancy weight in no time. You do burn an extra 500+ calories per day. Just make sure you eat enough and drink plenty of water so that your milk supply stays abundant. Do not diet while breastfeeding, you and your baby need these calories. In fact, in order to lose weight I had to make sure I ate more, otherwise my body went into starvation mode and I wouldn't lose a thing.

Definatly! Breastfeeding actually burns 500 calories a day. I have breastfed my son since he was born (he's 7 months now) and I already weigh less than I did before I was pregnant. I was down to my pre-pregnancy weight about a month after my son was born. Not only is it the best thing for your baby, it actually helps you lose weight too!

I think you'll lose weight gradually when you're breastfeeding because you'll need to keep up with the feeding by eating a lot too.
I'm breastfeeding and 6 months after birth, I still have around 20 lbs to lose. I lost the first 20 lbs right away....

Some do, some don't. Unfortunately I have not, but after I stopped the weight fell off quickly, but I breastfed for 10 months to a year with each child.

Yes typically it will help you lose weight faster as you nurse your uterus will go back to its original shape faster and will cause you to get some cramps. But you should keep in mind that because you are nursing, you should take in an extra 500 calories to help produce enough milk. I did not do this with my first and had a difficult time keeping up my supply.

I agree with Noggin Mama.. I too was starving when I breastfed. You do not read about that anywhere that it is a possibility. My friend and I had babies 3 weeks apart and I asked her about it.. she said the same thing and she was that way with all 4 of her babes..
but you may be an exception. Breastfeeding as we all know is best but of course if that is not possible or you choose not to BF that is ok too.

i read somewhere that just as long as you dont drop your calorie intake lower than 1800 calories a day you can still get what you need to produce milk and lose weight at the same time. also WALK WALK WALK. i can emphasize that enough. the more you walk the better you feel and the less weight you'll put on.

yes breastfeeding can help you lose weight. The baby is taking some of the calories you eat but also you have to watch what you eat you cant just eat anything, that will not help.
