I am moving to Seattle in the summer and I will be going to school full-time to get a masters degree in psychology. Also, do people in Seattle need baby-sitters? lol I thought that would be a good way to make money, and I have a lot of experience watching children.

I had a cousin who worked as a nanny for a wealthy couple in Seattle. There are lots of jobs in the service industry. Try coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

I would recommend you research a few of the nanny services in the Seattle area. Nanny's make about $10 an hour. You can get regular nanny jobs or on-call nanny jobs. It's a great way to make a decent amount for babysitting. You'll have to have your CPR/First Aid card and a background check to work for a nanny service, but it's a great way to work in this field, and pays a LOT better than working in daycare.

Another great place to work is coffee shops. Make sure you study up on how to be a barista (make espresso) and there an unlimited amount of places you can work. Starbucks and Tully's even offer insurance benefits to full time workers.

If you have office skills, you can also do temp services. I worked for Express Temporary for a number of years and was pretty happy with the placements. You'll get paid anywhere from $9-$15 an hour, depending on the job. Hope this helps.

Try craigslist Seattle. There should be lots of part-time jobs available once the tourist season starts back up but it's slim pickins right now. Best of luck!

A good place to work would be Starbucks Coffee Company. I work for them now part-time and I love it. Not only that if you need benefits they are great. I pay $33 a paycheck for great health, dental and vision. And for someone who is going to school you might want the free caffeine.

I say Costco and Starbucks. Great corporate companies and voted top places to work in the United States. Great benefits and treat their employees very well.
