It wasn't till the early 70s that radical Islam really started heating up in their hate doctrines that they teach. Of course, it has roots back to the 50s. Before this period, it was a matter of the religious crusades that died down to almost nothing. When America and England handed the oil that they discovered and refined over to the middle easterners is when it all started as far as the modern era is concerned. Had it not been for America and the then England, the ME would still be squatting around campfires cooking lizards for dinner. The radicals decided that the west was Satan in the 50s and took it to a new level in the late 60s culminating in the beginning attacks on American soil in 1977 around the corner from the White House.

President Bush, for whatever reason one wants to name, took the fight to these zealots on their turf. Trying to placate a fanatic does not work, attempting to get along with those who demand either conversion or death won't work. Radical Islam is a threat and has been for decades. If these zealots believe they have the will and ability to destroy America, Israel and western society, I pity them. It won't happen. They will be wiped out, all traces removed from existence. These crazies really need to be counseled by their peaceful counterparts that what they propose means nothing in the sight of the west.

it can be won in the sense that Iraq can be left in one piece, rebuilt and better than before. It can be peaceful on the streets... yes there are divisions within the region that have been there forever and will continue... but people can act in a civilized way. Leaving the country in chaos sure won't help!

Actually, the war has been going on since the Garden of Eden when Satan corrupted Adam and Eve. It is all about good vs evil, sin vs righteousness. It will be won by God when Satan is defeated and thrown into the bottomless pit.

Abraham? I don't think so. This is a geo-political dispute over resources that our country needs to survive and over the defense of our political ally. Religion is incidental to this war...

the only reason we can't win is because the liberals and their left-wing media will try to convince the American people that there is no threat from the terrorists.
