Apparently Senator John McCain of Arizona is being pressured heavily by the Bush administration to support the President's Iraq strategy. He as in fact defended it. How bad will this hurt McCain if he aspires to be our next President ?

I use to like McCain, but then he sold his soul to the neo cons. Now he's nothing more than just another Bush lap dog. It's reall quite sad actually.

You probably aren't old enough to remember the thrashing Richard Nixon gave George McGovern in 1972 when McGovern carried South Dakota and D.C. and perhaps one other state. If McCain is nominated, he'll be lucky to carry one state. His unflinching support for the Bush war policies have pretty well killed any aspirations he may have for the presidency. The Democrats could run my neighbor's Doberman and beat him.

Like so many others, I used to respect McCain as well - whoever called him a Bush lapdog hit the nail on the head.

Pressured by the Bush administration? McCain has been calling for a troop increase for years. The Bush administration is actually doing what McCain wants. I doubt this is going to hurt his political future, this is in step with what he has always said.

The ones who will be hurt are the ones who yelled for a troop increase in the past and are now opposing it.

John Mccain is a man amongst men. He has always sacrificed for the good of all, I hope it doesn't hurt him, but hey he is used to it, never told a thing to anyone all the months he was in prison camp, don't think the guy will fold now. He is interested, unlike most political people, in the good of the country and against special interests, he does what he thinks is best, the only one out thee I truely respect and definately trust....it called integrity...

He in effortless words ran adverse to Bush interior the primaries in 2000. not the same aspect as operating head to head adverse to a guy from the different social gathering. In 2004 John Kerry made a large deal about being a conflict hero and human beings actual offered that line. So McCain being a higher hero used it this time. notwithstanding it did not seem to make any distinction. Obama received, a guy who not in effortless words did not serve, he by no skill had to face the draft and evidently he by no skill even fired a gun. i imagine he will do a best Neville Chamberlain impersonation.

I believe that McCain is a Bush clone. I have lived in AZ most of my life and I can tell you that McCain used to have integrity, but no more. For someone who was a POW in Viet Nam, and this war seems to be a repeat of it, he would know better.

Some times you just have to stand up for what is right. This is not what a gutless politician does. Gutless politicians go with the polls for fear of not getting a vote. It's insane. So McCain should be applauded !

mccain will not get elected. i do think he will win the primary, because rudy does not appeal to republicans (at least the intelligent ones.) therefore, thankfully, the democrats will basically be assured of winning the next election. thanks mccain!!!!!
