It is two different aspects you are looking at, and it is quite simple.

Firstly, lets say you have attempted to fail a certain action, (say, A) and the attempt in itself is B, therefore you have failed in A and succeeded in B.

Just in case I am not clear enough.


B (Objective) = To fail A.

A (Action subjected to Objective) = To pass an exam.

Therefore: If you failed the exam, you failed A, but passed B.

In hindu myhtology (indian) we say do not bother about the results. Concentrate , how well you did it. What wrongs you did that you should not repeat.
