i am only 23 years old and have already had (2) basil cell carcinomas removed from my face. in my opinion that is all tanning beds are good for. instead of trying to look a certain way why not just have healthy skin? every time you may expose your skin to sunlight or UV rays you should apply a sunscreen of at least 15 SPF.

Me too. It's a difficult one as it's true people look better with a bit of colour and a tan. I guess fake tan is an option, I used that for a while but last year I wanted to get a tan and was out in the sun a lot. I know it's really aging more than anything else.
You could try using a really high sun block on your face and neck at least and just use some fake tan as your face and neck are th areas you least want to look aged.

Oh The Tanning Dilemma
I love a nice tan. I try never to burn and use self tanners all year long. But in the summer I'm guilty of sun worshipping. Right now I'm feeling blah so a little tan is a quick pick me up in the winter.

So it might sound bad but I LOVE tanning... and yeah I know that everyone always says leather skin, skin cancer, all that but I dont go excessively I go for a month and then leave it be for a few more months and if I feel like it I'll start going again. Or maybe even just for a week. So it doesn't ever look fake just sun kissed...

I wouldn't go to a tanning salon because that is a for sure way to have wrinkly skin later. I use self tanner lotions. They work pretty well and double as a moisturizer.

Well if you tan sometimes, nothing bad will raelly happen to your skin, only if you become addicted to tanning your face will; get really ugly and you'll get problems with your skin and health. I didnt go tanning yet but i really want to because im really pale, so its good to go sometimes and not all the time. So you should go just to get a little tan not like going every few weeks, to get a tan cuz then ull become addicted to it and youll become really tan and have problems =]

A tan does look nice but it's not healthy for you. Not only are you subjecting yourself to premature wrinkles and aging, you are subjecting yourself to skin cancer. People who want a tan are usually insecure people and like people complimenting on their tan. Play up your looks in another ways (hair, makeup, clothes, etc.) and you will get just as many, if not more, compliments without a tan.

Yeah, I tell people that pale is the new tan. I have seen the long terms affect of tanning and I decided to pass on that look. Plus, subconsciously men like pale women versus tan. A women is suppose to look like a porceline doll, and there is something very feminine to it, keep your paleness. You'll look a million years younger in the long run and all the tanners will look like the grandma in "Something about Mary" HA HA

It's winter.. why tan now?? Wait until at least April, if not later to go to a tanning salon. And don't be a tanning freak when you go! 20 min. on a saturday afternoon, then do it again in a month, and then stay in the sun. but wear at least an spf 20 sunscrean.

It's a waste of time. Every time you tan, you lose a little bit of your own glow from your original skin tone, and you'll end up looking "wrinkly" even faster. Decisions, Decisions.
