I've done a couple of faces, both in pencil and then a version in paint, but i need fresh ideas.
What other things associated with identity/personality/characteristics... etc can i draw?

And what media can i do them in...im sick of pencil and paint ??

thanks

"Identity" is a really good topic because it symbolize 'you.' It can be anything that you identify with or it identifies you. It does not have to be a face becase there are many other things and/or ways you could be identify as or/and with. Think about for exaple what animals you identify with, and it does not have to be the animal itself it could be a body part of that animal, for example the eyes, hair, mouth, etc. This topic is symbolic, think outside the circle and you will enjoy the art of creating art! ;0) Hope to hear what you came-up with!

I did a project similar to this in college.

Personally I did mine as a mixed-media collage. I took an afternoon and went to the mall to do nothing more than observe people as they walked by, I would look at what they were wearing (looking for team logos, designer logos, hairstyles, etc...even tatoos and piercings.) By finding out how they "made themselves up" it gave a bit of insight into how they identified themselves. (preppy, athletic, emo, hippy, surfer,Christian, buddhist, business-like, etc...) AFter making these observations I wrote them down in a notebook I had with me to help me remember what I had seen.

You could use magazines, use earrings, chains, money, etc and put it all into your collage. Be creative with it, but remember that identity is all about how someone views themselves. Good luck!

It might be neat to do some photographs taken from your point of view (if photographs are an acceptable medium for you). You could do a peripheral view of everything around you, or photograph pieces of yourself that are not your face....such as pointing the camera down so you see your body/feet, extending an arm, etc.. If you're experienced working with pencil and paint you could also try charcoals?

I have an idea of something you may want to do for identity...you may want to do a collage of thing..perhaps if this identity is referring to yourself... on a canvas you can paint a portrait of you and also add several other thing that make you, you,,..like favorite thing what you love to do...Just a suggestion :)

Do an image from a dreaming state of yours.

Images from your dream tells of your identity and personality.
You can recreate the image with photography.
