you're normal in the way the you are feeling right now...but to be honest I think you are on the right track when you say you should wait until you are a little more financially ready....Good Luck with whatever you choose to do.

Wait to have the baby until you are more financially secure and preferably married. Why rush things? Take some time for the both of you before you add another person to the mix who will take all your time and money. Travel, have fun, do all the things you have both wanted to do together with nothing to hold you back or always be worrying about. I know its hard to wait when your body is saying do it NOW but you will be glad you did when you are spending every day at home with the baby with little money to go anywhere or do anything. Ask your friend if she needs a break and babysit the baby for a weekend and see if you still feel the same way. They are a lot of work and they take up all of your time. You might think you are having the baby for you...but in reality you are being made over for THEM..once you have one there is no going back to the person you once were. Not that that is a bad thing....but you would be better off waiting until your circumstances are ideal. And by the way, it's not just your decision...your fiance might not be ready even if you are.

Financially, yes, wait. But let me put it into numbers; plan on a new child costing a minimum of $10,000/year or $20,000/year if you live in a large city. If you cannot budget that much, don't worry about it, just get your credit card bills down. If you have over $10k in debt, you will not want to start a family right now.
Also, there is a time element to raising a family that is often not accounted for. Especially if you take maturnity leave and will have to take time from where where you are not compensated. Work with your employer on this. Also, keep in mind that it will be very hard for you to accept going back to a full-time job after giving birth to your first child.
Lastly, be sure to continue to give attention to your [future] husband and worth *with* him on this. It will take both of you to raise the child. He is likely to be very resistant financially to go on this new venture, but as others have said, if you're waiting purely because of financial reasons, you'll keep making excuses for yourselves.

Let me tell you this from personal experience...if you wait until you are "financially" ready, it will probably never happen!!! You'll get used to living a certain lifestyle and you'll be like oh I just have to get this car first or I just have to buy this house first and you'll keep thinking up new things you HAVE to have before you can have a baby. If you're ready JUST DO IT...literally LOL!!!!!!

My husband and i probably SHOULD have waited to have a baby but we both wanted one really bad so i was pregnant when we got married. And i don't regret it at all. That is totally up to you and your fiance.

If it's only for the finances, don't wait... Follow your gut feeling... Money will take care of itself. Besides, even if you do get pregnant you still have 9 months to get prepared... and even when they are a tiny baby, they don't cost too much (I find!).

you just answered your own question.. it would be better financially. if you have any doubt then try to hold off. dont bring a child in this world on purpose if you can support it or are financially stable.
