Just cuirous. im not gay but i was just reading thru the gay section and have read a lot of this harassment. do people even THINK about how they might feel if they had to hear this since you were 15 years old and knew you were gay? no wonder the suicide rate among gay teenagers is 30% higher than straights. ugh this is so vile to me.

I agree with you. I have two gay cousins and no one really herasses them. I have, however heard some things behind their backs, and I have heard others make fun of other gay people. I did a research when I was in high school and the outcome of it was so sad. It makes me so mad because they are human beings also. They just love the same sex. No one really says anything to lesbians because alot of people think that it is sexy. Alot of lesbians are really bisexual. Yet, when it comes to gay guys everone freaks out. It is weird but that is what they want and feel. If it were a straight couple (like my sister and her fiance) and they are two seperate races, everyone makes it work somehow(like my family did). My family believes that it is wrong to be gay because of the bible, but they never say anything because you can not help who you fall in love with. Yes, I do see why the teens who are gay have a higher suicide rate than straight ones. I will tell you something that my gay friends and gay cousins have told me and if you ever see someone to pass it down to that is gay and they are having problems, then maybe you can help them. "People look at us as nasty. People say things about us everyday. But if they are such Christians then who are they to judge? Just knowing that they are sicker than me makes me happy. I know God is the only one who can judge me. Nothing they say can bring me down because I am so in love and have never been more happier. Obviously they are not happy with themselves so they pick on other people to make them feel better." I have heard this so many times and it is true. So if you can help one of these teens by talking to them and letting them know that they arent so different after all, you might be able to save a life. I hope I could help you see and know that I do understand what you are saying because i understand alot about these things (gays, ratialness, suicide victims, and much more) becaus my cousins are gay, my sister is in a mixed relationship w/ two beautiful mixed children and a fiance to die for, and my brother shot himself in the head.

well, many straight people probably are immoral - so, what's your point? What does that have to do w/being gay or sinning in any other way? I agree that no one should bash anyone else for their choices however I do think we all have a right to express our opinions based on our experience, knowledge etc. I am sorry to hear that the suicide rate is so high - where did you get that info? I'm curious, I have 2 teens & like to know what's happening out in the world as much as possible. I say no to 'bashing' but if people are going to ask questions, they need to be open to hearing diverse answers.

I am straight and I have been told that I am immoral and that I will go to hell many times. Now I'm sure you are wonder by who or why. Well, the answer is by everyone that don't agree with my beliefs or actions. Like Bible thumps. Those wan ta be saints. Many people seem to think it is there job to judge everyone else.
