I think they help us solves problems with ourselves. I believe that when we can't or refuse to deal with our problems consciously, they will come out in our subconscious (dreams) to "remind" us to do something about them. They're sort of like a nagging mom. The more time you spend ignoring your problems, the louder and more persistent your dreams will be.

Though i can't say just yes or no to your question, i have some dreams that tells me what the day is going to be. Sometimes I have strong premonition that comes out of nowhere. I just wonder how i get that kind of dream. So, I think dreams can help us answer some questions, though i wont say it is always very concrete because it has to do with how you interpret the dreams as well and the meaning it carries for yourself.

Not my dreams anyway.

My dreams are always either a matter of having images put on big feelings (like grief) or else a matter of being in a situation I wish I were in.

At least for me, life's biggest problems get solved best when I am completely awake and have the most mental energy.

Problems can be solved if we put our mind into it..... ..Dreams is an unrealistic world we create in our minds that takes beyond the real world we live on everyday of our lives.

If your dreams bring you comfort in some way...or answer questions you have...then yes. Of course, it's our subconscious communicating with us...and we can pick them apart all we please, but what it breaks down to is the simple fact that if it helps and brings you solace and peace of mind...than why not allow them to help?
