i mean i am a teen and many of my friends are doing this every other day. why? i mean i think it is nasty so young. but why do people go on about it. i know they think they are all HOT SHOTS but still why do they have to go this far. even at high school parties this goes on. parties are supposed to fun and hanging out not drugs and sex. yes another thing is drugs. we do teens think they are cool from drugs. is it because they dont have no one to guide them, show them from right or wrong. I just dont get the point of drungs and Sex.... for TEENS!

I know what you mean. I am also a teen and many people at my school do this. They are all just growing up the wrong way too fast. I guess that when a teen has sex, and they just wanted to be popular and accepted by others. And if that is the case then I must be the nerdiest person ever. And I am okay with that. I have friends, a boyfriend of 2 years , and a family that loves me.

Well i aint going to lie i started having sex when i was 16 but atleast i had enough sense to get on birth control and i married the guy i lost my virginity too. We have been together for almost 12 years. We only have one 5 year old son. No one pressured me into having sex. It was my own decision. My boyfriend (now husband) and i waited for a year into dating until we had sex. As for drugs i was around it but never done anything.
People would ask me to drink or smoke pot but did i? No i didn't. No one can make you do anything you don't want to do.
You cannot blame it all on peer pressure because someone cannot make you snort a pill or cocaine or take a hit off of pot. (I had friends that would talk this way)
No one can make you have sex unless you are raped.
I do think that teenagers should not be having sex (If i could go back i could have waited longer) because most don't even have enough sense to use birth control and condoms.
I am 27 years old and have never drank, been drunk or been put in jail for anything. I have never been to a bar. See people can't make you do things like that if you don't want too.
Good luck

My kid's friends that I know are having sex are all looking for love in all the wrong places. They aren't getting emotional needs met at home so they are looking for a substitute. I know that this is why I did it in high school. I didn't realize it at the time but I sure did after I grew up. If you feel unaccepted, unvalidated at home and no one is there for you, that makes them seek other means of satisfying their needs. Some turn to sex, some to gangs etc.. It is sad to see this happening. I see so many kids hurting and I want to make it better for them, but their parents need to step up and be parents, be there for them with unconditional love. Sex will still go on, but it may reduce the casual sex, the I'm cool sex. I am proud of you for your views and choices. Keep up the good work!

I'm 19, i had sex at the age of 17 after talking with my then boyfriend, now fiancee for 2 weeks. I didnt do it for fun, or because of my peers. i did it because i love my fiancee, i loved him then and i still love him now.but i never slept with anyone else, only him. I never did drugs. i payed way to much attention in health class and dont feel i need drugs to have a good time. I had someone to show me right from wrong, my parents, and my faith. but like others said, its a part of life. but don't do it unless your comfortable and love the person and know he loves you. and your ready to deal with the concequences that could happen if something goes wrong, or something breaks, etc...

I don't get the point of drugs and sex either sweetie but your not doing it and that's great. Stay in school and keep your head-up.
Sex will still be there when you get old enough to experience it, just wait until the time is right.
As for drugs it's a no,no never.....o.k
you're a good teen.

Teens are having sex at such young ages because they think its not the "norm" to still be a virgin when they graduate from high school. So some start off at such young ages, and will get younger. Thats why you see 10-12 year olds drinking.

You don't have to lose your virginity to be cool, but in my high school, finding a virgin was hard, it was like playing "where's waldo", and i'm still a virgin, and will be on my wedding night. (i'm 20)

It's hard to answer this question, some of teens they want to have sex, because they seen or watched a lot of pornography website and movies. Some of teens they went to take drugs, because they want to get high. For this reason, is hard to judge why they do so.
Personally think we should blame on parents.

I don't know. It's a mixture of acceptance, peer pressure, and excuses. They use the excuse of "everyone does it" to make it "okay" and then do it because they want to be cool.

Honestly, sex and drugs are a big part of teenage life--they were even back in the 50s--it just wasn't talked about. It's a phase and that's what some people do to have fun.

Good for you for not caving in under peer pressure.

EDIT--As for blaming parents it isn't just that. Sure, some parents are to blame but many teenagers do what they want. I've known many people who have excellent parents who are involved and even stay-at-home parents. The teenagers are just very good liars. Haven't we all seen the parent who was "perfect" then their daughter or son gets drunk and arrested one night? It happens to most people. Teenage years are a shocker to ALL parents--even the involved parents.
