Firstly- Israel is not the cause of all the problems in the middle east. But- Arab leaders creatively use Israel in that way.
Secondly- Israel is the only democracy and has been a great friend to the US. Also- if we didn't support them, we would instead be supporting corrupt kingdoms and theocracies- which would certainly (and have) come back to bite us.
"we had no enemies in the middle east until the creation of Israel?" Where the heck did you learn your history?

I think they should be our ally, but I don't think that we should give them unconditional funding, especially if they are going to use our money to build illegal settlements that violate the roadmap to peace that they agreed to. We also need to be able to call them on their BS once in a while. Israel is a nation, not a religion, and it's not hate speech to call attention to any misbehavin that they may be doing.
All this talk about "Democracy" seems to overlook the fact that the people who live in the occupied territories either don't get a right to vote, or have their elected government subverted.
Apparently East Coaster below me has forgotten that during the Dark Ages of Europe, Jews were far safer in Muslim controlled Arab countries than they were in Christian ones.

The reason the United States supports Israel is because they are a democracy in an area of the world that does not have many democracies. The reason some Muslims hate the United States is not just its support of Israel, but also because there are American troops stationed in Saudi Arabia and some Muslims feel they are being exploited for oil.

Because Americans believe that everyone has a right to live. And Israel has stuck with us through thick and thin.
The Arabs have been trying to destroy the Jewish people for a thousand years and the last time, lol, they ended up getting the hell kicked out of them. So the Arabic propagandist recognized that the only way they could defeat Israel was to isolate them from the rest of the world. They then courted [and continue to do so] feel good liberal to stand up for the poor 'ole bullies. And say "how shameful that Israel exists!"
Well, too bad. If they would have left Israel alone they wouldn't have run home with their tail between their legs.

Israelis and the Jewish people were in Palestine 2500 years before Islam was founded.
Israel is a democracy and not the source of terrorism in the Middle East, radical Islamic fundamentalist is the problem...
Liberals only cluck about the terrorist, learn more about global terrorism and its agenda...

"We had no enemies in the ME until the creation of Israel." Where in the hell did you learn history? Our current enemies allied themselves with Nazi Germany before the creation of Israel.

Try to find out how many people in our country in prominant positions have ties to Israel. Notice their salaries compared to yours. Notice who is in all the Chambers of Commerce (who seem to dictate the legislation all in favor of business interests over individual rights).
Many people couldn't afford Christmas presents for their kids this year, how many couldn't afford Hannuka presents?
