wOW - tough call, but I'm leaning towards YES, only because I've seen them in concert a few times and they are phenomenal musicians.

What is the question? ELP and YES are two of the brilliant rock composing and performing groups of the past 40 years. Their music is some of the most complicated music out there, and is just brilliantly performed (other than the "commercial" years of YES -- like "Owner of a Lonely Heart".
A YES concert is not just a concert -- it is an experience. Just to watch Steve Howe play his guitars -- the most difficult guitar music ever, or to hear Rick Wakeman play keyboards is worth more than the ticket price.

Love them both. Seen YES live about 5 times, and they're really great. But also really like ELP.
But, I have to give the nod to YES, because of sheer volume. They've done many albums worth of awesome material with of course a few stinkers.
ELP didn't have that much material but had more "hits" and approachable songs.

convinced! i love convinced haha. ELP is cool to, yet convinced has a good vocal singer i will narrate to. i love to sing at bars yet favor i could hit the notes like Jon Anderson! they are an rather influential band that helped commence the Prog move and there style to me helped deliver yet another large band out in Rush. convinced has been round for a minimum of 35 years even notwithstanding they have had some lineup differences. Its one in all my superb pals well known bands.

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but Yes are the second best band ever. ELP are good as well.

For me has to be ELP. Classical and jazz influences and soooo overblown live,great!
