Here are a few suggestions:
-If you don't play your old games, you can trade them in somewhere for a little cash, then buy games used, they are way cheaper.
-If you have a bit of money, you can always rent games, just to see if you like them, before you put out the cash to actually buy it.
-If you are responsible, and have really really nice friends...... you can borrow games. Play them for a week or two and return them. This will also let you know which ones you like enough to buy.
-You can find tons of websites with free games to play. This has taken up more than one of my afternoons! My favorite is Pac-Man..... AWESOME!
-Get a part time job somewhere, or just an easy source of income, like a paper route. If you save enough of it, you'll be able to get a few games, but choose ones that will take you a long time to beat, then it will actually be worth the effort!

Well, either get a job...or download free games. Do you like MMORPGs? if so you can play guildwars for free. Its a lot of fun. There are also a lot of free game sites too!
