first of all, stay away from limewire, its illegal. Second of all, you can change the settings on your protection software to allow some programs and not others, so open Norton's control center-or the equivalent- and look around for a way to edit that list. Remember though, limewire is illegal and you can get in trouble for using it.

You usually right click on the firewall icon on the right of the toolbar, open it and change the programs that are allowed to access the internet. Or you should be able to open it from Start - all programs. I don't use Norton so cant be more specific.
You can reply to people by clicking the Edit Q button, its underneath your question. Or you can click on peoples avatar, go to their page and see if they allow e-mails.
Shortyxxs has given you a good answer, you can get free software and music from download.com, and free software from snapfiles. And it doesn't have any viruses in.
Make sure you use a good anti virus and anti spyware, and check all files when you download them. You're bound to get something nasty eventually if you use Limewire.

A) To reply to an answer send us an email via our accounts
B) Try disabling the personal firewall that Norton comes with as this is the most common problem.
Failing that uninstall limewire and re download...
Notice if Limewire is showing as being harmful, stop being so desperate for music files and go to this site:
http://www.download.com
Search under Music

Open the settings of your security program (usually by right-clicking the system tray icon)
Locate a section for adding exceptions for specific programs
Add LimeWire as an exception (C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe)

Okay, first of all Limewire DOES have viruses on it.
But I blame the idiots that try and download crack software with .exe extensions.
If you are downloading off Limewire, stay away from .exe and .asx extensions.
If you go onto your norton firewall, you should have an allow list, just add limewire.

once you've administrator privileges then only only shutdown Norton if it promises those recommendations, and then turn it back on once you're achieved. once you've admin privileges yet Norton does no longer provide help to close it down then restart your abode windows and log in secure mode by using urgent F8 even as booting and attempt to run this technique in secure mode. except that, you're at a lost.
