There is a book called "Steal This Book", it was written in the seventies and recently rereleased. A friend of mine at the bookstore says that in the years since they have had it on the shelf, not a single copy of it has been stolen.

I believe it is actually the most stolen book, but not necessarily shoplifted, as most of them are taken from hotel/motel rooms. I think people are just trying to give them back to "Gideon".

Anyone can make up statistics, and I think this one is not true.
How about: Lefties fall out of windows more often than righties?
or 78% people have one foot a size larger than the other?
Well, keep on truckin'

Gideon Bibles aren't ever stolen.
It is a gift left in hotel rooms for anyone who wishes to avail themselves of it.

That is amazing--religious people stealing Bibles--hysterical, though sad.
No, can't top that with anything that comes to mind.
