The main reason that WWE sucks now is because they focus more on the entertainment than the wrestling. Which is ironic by the fact that most of their storylines and skits are getting rubbish anyway. e.g. donald vs rosie. On the other hand TNA concentrates more on the wrestling and their storylines are exciting & belivable. WWE underates their true talent like shelton, carlito, matt hardy, etc. in favour of bodybuilders and looks. That's why u see guys dominating like Batista, Cena, Lashley etc. TNA hires wrestlers that work hard and are proven good wrestlers from independant's whereas WWE hires bodybuilders from the beach and sends them to OVW so they can learn how to do a headlock. WWE also hire models in favour of hardworking female wrestlers. WWE doesn't really have a women's, a tag team , a cruiserweight division. WWE doesn't give all its wrestlers a chance to shine like TNA. Their show revolves around only the world titles. TNA is a promotion that gives the fans what they want.

You really know your stuff SarahB! You've just about answered everything i was gonna write when i saw this q.
WWE for sure does concentrate on storylines.I reckon that's what drives the brand on.Feuds, stories, battles etc.I suppose that's what the E in WWE stands for - entertainment.Fans want a show, skits, storyline-based feuds. We all have our faves.
TNA rightly concentrates on wrestling.Dixie Carter isn't operating on the same budget so she can't afford the same lavish visuals or effects as Vince can.So she has to focus on the wrestling pure & simple.Which is why Styles, Daniels & co work so hard at working really good matches.I watch TNA regularly & those 2 really are good. Now TNA is on prime-time tv in the US it's gonna give WWE a serious run for it's money.

I Partially agree w/ you but this is the REAL reason why WWE Sucks!!:

TNA is great compared to WWE, but that doesn't mean to stop watching WWE all together, competition is great for us wrestling fans, The WWE has been in a slump ever since WCW was bought out by the WWE because the WWE didn't have to work hard at all to be the main source of wrestling. Right now week after week the WWE has been dropping the ball, and the great programming done by TNA and ROH has taken that ball and ran with it. The WWE can hire as many body builders as they want, but sooner or later the fans are going to realize that people like Batista, Cena, and Great Khali couldn't wrestle their way out of a box and they just do 5 moves of doom and end matches. It is horrible, there is no entertainment, the story lines are complete garbage, they aren't even trying anymore. As for anyone who says wrestling is fake, sure it's fake, but so is almost everything else on tv, Should I stop watching the office because it's scripted? no, how about CSI? no not at all! And as for Turniton5's comment about boxing being better than wrestling, I'm sorry buddy but boxing matches are fixed just as much as wrestling matches.

WWE uses a tried and tested method: get a big guy, make sure he knows a couple of power moves, sell these power moves and have the commentators go gaga over him, make him champion and let the merchandise sell itself.

This has worked, from Hogan ( and his aweson leg drop haha) to Batista, Cena (whose act has been dumbed down to suit the role).

WWE gets bodybuilder types and train them to wrestle.

TNA on the other hand starts with wrestlers. So the in-ring activity is more exciting, varied, and because the guys are huge monsters, faster paced.

This allows TNA to have guys who are of a relatively normal size, compete and make it possible for anyone to hold the heavyweight belt. If AJ Styles gets the belt from Abyss and fights off Sting, Christian Cage, nobody will find it strange. On the other hand Mysterio holding the belt in the WWE was weird. Mysterio could hold the belt easily in TNA however. It would just be more credible.

It's the same thing with the women's division. Good wrestlers like Jazz, Molly, Gail Kim were let go of; Victori is underused. All in favour of looks. That's what the WWE sells in its male and femal athletes.

TNA, on the other hand has Gail Kim who gets involved, credibly even in male matches.

I think that the difference between the two is just a question of focus. WWE focusses on looks, TNA on wrestling, so they appeal to different segments. It doesn't mean that everyone on WWE has no wrestling talent, or everyone on TNA doesn't have the looks, but it's a question of what is emphasized.

It is possible to enjoy both, or to like only one of these brands, depending on personal choice. The more people like wrestling: holds, suplexes, high flying action, the more people will tend to TNA. On th eother hand, the more people like power and looks, the more they will appreciste WWE.

Personally I watch both, but I make a greater effort to catch TNA, and tell my friends about TNA, show then clips of say Petey Williams doing the Canadian Destroyer, to get them interested.

I totally agree. Wrestling is supposed to be about matches not over the top ridiculous skits. Rosie vs.Trump and The Kiss My A@@ Club. That has nothing to do w/wrestling. That is entertainment and bad entertainment at that. Give me more matches and less dialog. If I want to see a bunch of conversation, I'll turn on a drama series!! WWE has really declined since the Monday Night Wars. I guess w/o another major company to compete with, they've lost their creative edge.

first off tna storylines arent that entertaining, but, there wrestling matches are. and as for underutilizing there talent in wwe take a look at tna all you here about is Angle vs Joe, nobody else really gets a major push like them two. both companies have there faults, so you cant go and bash a companie for something when tna is doing the same thing aswell

I've got news for you. WWE/WWF has always been more entertainment focused than sport focused since Vince McMahon Jr.
acquired control of the promotion from his father. This is nothing new. They cater to fans like hbk_wwe_dx, whose comments are
typical of the WWE marks out there. They will sink to the lowest
common denominator, because there are more fans who want to
be entertained than who care about the actual technical aspects
involved. These are the type of fans who listen to prepackaged
music like Britney, read trashy tabloids, and probably watch at
least one soap opera, whether it is daytime or primetime. Let
the babies have their bottle. TNA is for the traditional wrestling fan, while WWE is for those who don't care about the business,
only about being entertained. The NBA used this strategy with
Michael Jordan to great success, where it was more about
dunks than fundamentals. The WWE is doing the same thing.

Well, I've always been a fan of the WWE but I can agree. I love John Cena and Batista but would like to see much more of other wrestlers. I love Jeff and Matt Hardy, they are amazing, yet they barely get any time compared to John Cena. I don't watch TNA but I will have to start tuning in to see what you mean. If the WWE keeps it up with it's lame skits- TRUMP AND ROSIE- I am going to stop watching.

precise. you want to discuss gimmicks? Whats with VKM? Its a gimmick it really is terrible and would not exhibit both wrestlers skills, its basically unhappy. What about Abyss? Hes a 2d price knock off of Mankind and Kane. As for tag communities, definite, the wwe has been neglecting them yet they have began to push Cryme Tyme and Cade and Murdoch, The Highlanders and The Worlds nicely acceptable Tag crew. earlier Batista changed into damage he had an excellent following, it really is why he continues to be getting pushed. As for something? nicely wwe has slipped allot yet with slightly of success human beings like the Hardy's, Shelton, and Carlito will replace issues. TNA acts as if its a fulfillment and is on top, it has thanks to a concepts to flow for that. WWE is declining to boot, I basically desire one among them might want to p.c.. it up and delivers the different a run for its money.

WWE is mainstream, they don't cater to wrestling fans, they cater to non-wrestling fans and by majority they will always beat TNA in ratings. Wrestling fans can whine about WWE for the rest of their lives but the WWE wil always be on top because Vince understands that this is a show and not a real sport.
