Yes. If its inhumane to keep a dog in pain, why is it ok to keep a human alive especially if its against their will. They have a say in their lives, unlike dogs, but we put them down out of 'kindness' to end their misery. Why would someone want to live in such pain? It someone wants to end their life painlessly they SHOULD be able to do it

I agree with a bunch of these answers. People should have the right to end their life, especially in the case of terminal illness and severe pain. This debate, however, is not brought up in American politics with any legal or constitutional sense, it is unfortunately all about what the christian right thinks is right.

Well, I could understand the argument for terminally ill people but I still don't think it should be allowed. Physician Assisted Suicide is what it's usually called. It's actually illegal in most states. I think you should go naturally and let your body decide when it's the right time. Also, terminally ill people may be "mentally" ill at the time and not be able to make rational decisions b/c of depression or other problems. Either way, it's suicide and it's not right.

Absolutely, each person should make their own decision about their death , but . . .
Here in the USA the NAZI division of the Christian religions have interfered with human rights and now monopolize the dictatorship of these decisions.
USA persons seeking freedom on this issue are forced to travel to more civilized countries overseas.
USA is long on power but short on intelligence & respect.

That is a good question. I am still in the" what if " frame of mind, you know, like what if there is Agod who will send us to an EVER PAINFUL HELL for disobeying his rules and taking for granted this life, that can be so good to live.? BUT... what if there is a different spiritual plane where no one is meant to suffer if they don't want to.? HMMMMM..... I still wouldn't say I feel comfortable killing my own self. I LIKE PAINKILLERS !!

As long as they're found to be mentally competent to make such a decision, and have a disease or condition that makes living pairnful or unbearable, I blieve they should have that right.

Yes... painless or painful.. if it's my life, then it's my death too. The rest of the world can either cope or go to hell.
