Can they legally show you a picture of what you think you are ordering and then when you get it-it's not even close??

Yes, you can check www.ripoffreport.com and type in the name of the company in the search bar. It is a free service and you don't have to register an email address or anything else to use it.

If you know the state in which the company was incorporated in then go to the Internet search engine and type: sos.state. (what ever the state abbreviation is).us. Example, in Texas you would type: sos.state.tx.us. This will put you into the Secretary of State's office for that state. From their you can do a search to find the information you want, or you can send the SOS an email and ask your question. All business must register in the state that they are doing business in. So, start with the state of the mailing address that you have for that company. If you have been defrauded you can report the company to the SOS.

only if they have a disclaimer can they show you a picture thats not close - no disclaimer, no bull s*** picture, check the on-line company with better business bureau or there are several web pages that are similar to an on-line better business bureau

Try the on-line better business bureau. Also you can download McAfee SiteAdvisor if you want to see if a web site is spammy etc..
