The North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement. Wal mart is a big supporter of it, and other retailers that like paying next to nothing wages and support employee abuse in third world countries.
Free trade is not good for everyone, especially the American farmer. You should look it up on the web and find out all of the reasons why it isn't good.

You could do a Yahoo search to see what NAFTA is... but it is the North American Free Trade Agreement. Republicans and Democrats obviously have supported it because we signed on to it. Free trade is controversial for example: Brazil makes orange juice. They can make it really cheap and if they could import it into the U.S. we would get orange juice for like 50 cents a container. (this is just a hypo.) But, this is the rub. Florida farmers produce orange juice as well. They just can't do it at the price that Brazil can. Free trade would allow Brazil to take over the market because they could produce it at such a low price. What would that do to the farmers down in Florida? They would be out of work- right? Not to mention that orange juice- manufacture there not only provides jobs for the farmers but all the people involved in the packaging, etc. These people vote and would be very displeased if they were out of a job based upon a vote by a political leader. Why would Rep. or Dems. potentially support something that could cause them to lose votes for reelection.

North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA)

Ummm you really should see who was in Office when this went through and then you should look at the voting history of all 3 times NAFTA came up....REPUBLICANS did and do support it!

Why a Dem would I have no clue....it has cost this Country Millions of jobs to third world Country's....and I don't care if it DEM OR REP if they support NAFTA then they are selling the American people out!

He won't tell because he is probably a supporter and is embarrassed to tell you he is selling your future out to third world Countries!

Companies take their business to third world Countries for the cheaper labor and then ship the crap back here and sell it for the same cost and make huge profits.

NAFTA apparently had enough support to be passed in the 90's.
The current version "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" has been under taken without Congressional approval and with many Americans not realizing it is even happening.

interior both an prolonged time because of reality the fairness doctrine change into scrapped we've seen AM radio pass from the land of the Carpenters (let's face Mack's argument for now) to a 24-7 channel for the Republican social gathering, a channel that pronounces the worst type of slurs adverse to Democrats with impunity. It provides what should be billions in free promotion for Republicans (has each body quantified this?) on condition that truly some the nicely-frequently happening public isn't Republican, this state of affairs obviously is going adverse to the idea of broadcast stations being public concerns inspired with the nicely-frequently happening public believe. And no, "public believe" does not equivalent "sandbox for demagogic precise wing talkers." So frankly the i'm unimpressed with the cries from conservatives that they could lose a million/2 their time on the radio. Why ought to they have that plenty time? They truly do not symbolize a million/2 the human beings interior the country. mag Communications, sparkling Channel and something obviously have examined they are incapable of upholding the nicely-frequently happening public believe by technique of self-regulation. And so we want some type of fairness doctrine to help be certain this believe is upheld. The fix of this type of regulatory regime ought to create organisation company stressful circumstances for those conglomerates yet i do not probable care. that they'd their threat and they blew it. don't be stupid: help the fairness doctrine.

North American Free Trade Alliance.....many don't support it because they feel that by supporting & encouraging trade with countries that are notorious for poor work environments (extremely low pay, no benfits, child labor), that we are indirectly supporting these terrible practices. Also, many feel that it leads to outsourcing of American jobs to these other countries, because the labor is so cheap and now trade is on the rise with these countries. It's a program that has its pros and cons...it was meant to bolster good will between other countries and the US and hopefully inject some life into the economy of these other countries, but many feel that it does little more than encourage them to continue with poor labor practices, which again leads to outsourcing, terrible conditions for those nationals (which is one of the resons we have such a huge illegal immigration problem in this country).

North American Free Trade Act. This is purely a Republican thing. It enables big companies to go to places like Mexico, pay workers about 42 cents an hour, and sell you 100 dollar shoes. Next came CAFTA. This covers central america. If you are at all interested in what all this means to you and your parents, I suggest you might try watching some news once in a while. A good program is Lou Dobbs, on CNN. Be aware. Next will come SHAFTA.

nafta- north american free trade agreement- this I am certain of. I believe the problem that some people have with it is that it makes it more difficult for companies who operate within the US against those who produce products outside with cheap, cheap labor
