When you pour water into a closed box, which of the answers makes sense? Does it take the shape of the box or retain its own shape? Does it fill the box up, or only up to the level of its own volume?

d. I don't know if your class wants a. (it's possible), but if you change the temperature of water, it does expand/ contract, so volume is not definite.

d is the best answer. The best answer, however, is not always the one which gives you the points for the correct answer. Your teacher might want a (an incorrect answer).
