I am turning 40 this year, and was asked by my husband what i wanted to do. I have a couple of ideals. I want it to be unique. my first was a elegent gathering, hordevours, wine glasses and everyone dressed nice, like an fancy fund raiser. 2nd was a huge family friends slumber party. But not real sure how that would go over. HELP ME PLEASE>

how about renting a yacht and hold a private function between family & loved ones?

or travel to some exotic places like the south east asia or africa and visit the wild animals?

happy 40th! :)

I don't think much of you slumber party idea. People in their 30's and 40's, usually have children and other responsibilities. A slumber party seems to be a party idea for very young people. Go to this web site to give you some other ideas.

When I turned 40, my hubby and I just went out to dinner, and a movie, then home for some private time together.

Happy 40th Birthday!

The slumber party could be iffy. I'd go for the dinner party.
If you're not set on the elegant thing, you could make it a little wilder. Get a DJ, lot's of Hors d'ouvres, a bartender, etc..

I am turning 40 this year too! I have decided to go skydiving and invite some friends to come and watch. Afterwards, we'll have an outdoor barbecue with plenty of beer. I think there is no better way to celebrate being alive!

(But it depends on your personality, of course!)

BTW, many happy returns!
