I am due my 3rd baby within the next 2 weeks and started getting pains 2 days ago. The pains started off lightly around my lower stomach and gradually got stronger and spread round my sides and my back. I also got shooting pains down the inside of my thighs and the pressure at my private parts was unbelievable. This was happening pretty much every 10-15 minutes for about a day and a half but has now stopped dead. I have a full 24 hours now with nothing and dont understand it. With my 1st child, my waters ruptured first so i knew i was in labour and with my 2nd i woke up smack bang into labour and she was born 15 minutes later. I dont want to phone the hospital as it has all stopped and i am trying soooo hard to be patient. I am really confused. Can any1 help?

It's typical a 3rd baby! Myself and my friends have had the same experience with our 3rd. I had this for 2 weeks before he was born. The more children you have the loser your ligaments become and your baby will be getting into position for it's imminent birth - I'd see the midwife if I were you. GOOD LUCK! (and don't forget your breathing!)

I don't want to alarm you but you need to see a doctor. I have a coworker who was close to giving birth. She had a lot of pains and felt very sick about 2 weeks before she gave birth, when she went to the hospital, they found that the baby had died inside of her. She had to go through the procedures of labor and deliver the still born baby. It is better to be safe then sorry. I hope this will not be the case for you

While its not normal for you, its actually considered perfectly normal labor.

Ive been going through that same thing, some times for an entire day, some times for a few hours, off and on now for nearly 2 weeks.

Eventually the contractions will stay and intensify and you will stay in active labor. Until then, just keep moving around and going about daily life.

same happened to me and i did get help the doctiors told me i was in labour but only 2cm dilated and this went on for five hours having pains every 2/3 mins apart but then it all stopped and i was sent home and told to do what i wanted and the labour would start again when ready, i lasted for another two days then i woke at 11pm and my baby was born at 11.55 just had time to get to hospital,
i was told do anything to try to start labour up again like clean kitchen floor on knees, walk around alot as gravity will help, have sex -if you can. and it worked for me i now have a healthy one year old and expecting another baby in 3 months .

I also experienced it with #3. I never had also B-H or early contractions with #1 or #2...but with #3 I had a day that went on for hours but never progressed and then stopped entirely. I went into true labor about a week later. Best wishes on a good delivery!

Sounds like braxton hicks, I had the samething happen to me. My baby likes to hide out at the bottom of my stomach and kick and punch me and it sends shooting pains in my private parts and my legs. It could also be that, but if you are that concerned the best thing is to call your doctor. Hope this helps and good luck.

Your getting ready to have your baby. Your body was getting ready to go through labor but for some reason has put labor on hold. IF any of the pain comes back go to the hospital.

With my last baby, I experienced something similar toward the end of my pregnancy. My doctor was not very helpful ~ but my good friend, a childbirth educator and doulha (spelling?), suggested that the baby might be pushing down toward my cervix with a heel or with a hand. She told be to get down on the ground on all fours and to rock my pelvis to get the baby to change positions and to reduce the pressure on my cervix. It did the trick. Good luck.

Sounds like strong Braxtons to me, especially if they never got closer together. I am 30 weeks with baby number 6 and I know sometimes they can hurt just as much as the real ones....What really tipped me off was that you said they started in your stomach...real labor pains start in your back (like period cramps)...and that they stayed same time space apart and never got closer together...good luck with your delivery!!!

False labor most likely. If it starts coming at every 5 minutes or water breaks go to the ER ASAP.
