This is a mess. The accuser has changed her story again. Honestly, I feel the case should be thrown out because she keeps changing her story then I wonder was she paid off. Mmmm. I think the guys will go on with their lives even though this woman has took them through the ringer and Mike Nifong maybe sued by the families of the accused Lacrosse players.
Either way, I hope something comes to a decision because I am tired of hearing about it.

Mike Nifong was clearly violating all ethical boundaries from the beginning, the case details aside. He was practicing unethical behavior by providing details to the press that should have remained silent (especially considering he knew this would eventually go to court somehow) as well as passing judgment about the accused:

"D.A. Nifong referred to the lacrosse players 'a bunch of hooligans' whose 'daddies could buy them expensive lawyers' "

Have we ever heard of the whole "Innocent until proven guilty?" especially when you represent the government that wrote these laws?

Nifong should be disbarred, and I believe the families will set out to do this. This is a man with a bit too much ego trying to use a case to gain national attention before a much-debated election for his now-current term. Unfortunately, there are rules against suing a District Attorney, even if he did hold back evidence in the beginning. One charge has already stemmed from the NC Bar's investigation into Mike Nifong:

"The North Carolina bar filed ethics charges Thursday against the prosecutor in the Duke lacrosse sexual assault case, accusing him of saying misleading and inflammatory things to the media about the athletes under suspicion."
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061229/D8MA91I80.html

There is also talk happening in regard to changing the North Carolina laws to allow prosecution for the D.A., but I'm not sure that this will apply to Nifong.

This case should have never happened, and it was due to one woman that decided that she should lie. She should apologize to those she accused and to the nation as a whole, and go to jail for providing false statements to the police and perjury. This are both serious issues and she should pay the price. Choices have consequences.

The one other thing I'll be interested in hearing about, though I'm sure we won't, is the other group that stepped too quickly into this business without considering the consequences... Rev. Jesse Jackson and his group, the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, who vowed to pay for the accusers tuition whether or not her story was true...

"Jackson he has yet to speak with the woman, but said his group pledged to pay for her tuition even if her story proves false."
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,1919...

No group should consider making such an offer without considering the consequences of such a thing. Should all of those that cry wolf be offered a prize? This only hurts that ones that the wolves truly attack.

All said, I think that the young men accused will go on to have fruitful lives, but will forever have a blemish on this time of their life. Shouldn't someone be to blame? Mike Nifong and the accuser should be in jail.
