Mexico is a rather large country. Specifically where in Mexico are you speaking?

Do's:

1. Speak Spanish to people there or at least try to. It goes a long way when you do. Even if you can only say hello how are you, please, thank you, and your welcome. At least you try. People appreciate it.

2. Remember you are a guest in another country, do be respectful of their laws and customs.

3. Treat all people how you would like to be treated.

4. Get out of the tourist areas and see how people live in Mexico. The food is usually 1000 times better. Things are also usually cheaper.

5. Get to know, make friends with local people.

6. Do buy Lomotil (diarrhea) medicine. It costs about 5 to 7 usd and will save you if you have some problems.

Don't:

1. Don't act superior to other people because you have money or are a tourist. You are a guest, behave like one.

2. Don't be daring and eat from street vendors. My friends who live all their life there don't do it, why would you? Never eat clams or other raw seafood which vendors carry around on the beaches. Can get Hepititus A and other things.

3. Don't assume any water except bottled water is safe. Some hotels have purified tap water, but ask before you drink it.

4. Don't be afraid to explore and meet new people.

5. Don't assume since you are in Mexico that their laws do not apply to you. They do. And Meixcan prisons are not a pretty place.

But most of all DO HAVE FUN and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!

Mexico City (Ciudad de México) is the capital of Mexico and an amazing city surrounded by great mountain ranges. To see that city you are able to choose the very best choice hotelbye . The city's place is unquestionably breathtaking. Two wonderful snow-covered volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, tower above it with their more of 5,000 meters. Mexico City also preserves numerous pointers of their previous and those are items that entice the tourists. The whipping heart of Mexico City is Zócalo - the Plaza de la Constitución (Constitution Square) - where in fact the country's first constitution was proclaimed in 1813 and now could be one of the most visited place of Mexico City because it's among the world's greatest squares. In Mexico City you can also visit: the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Templo Mayor.

Beware of water that sneaks into you by sources you may not readily think of: Ice cubes, Washed salads, showers, etc. Inquire from the front desk of the hotel where it is safe to eat locally and what is the quality of the water at the hotel.
Do NOT import, export nor buy any weed there - they will arrest rich-looking Americans in a heartbeat.
Don't bring back vanilla for friends. It is often made from a vanilla-smell-alike and it is not good for you.
Jewelry: Onyx is sometimes plastic. Know what you're doing.
Have fun. Mexico is a fun place with great weather and food and friendly people - go with the right attitude and youll have a ball!

Hi, I live in a mexican city.

1. Try to avoid MEXICO CITY, specially by night. If you have to take a taxi there, use the ones available in the hotel or the airport, they are more expensive but you´ll be safe. Leave your jewelry at the security box, few cash at the wallet.
2. Do not feel affraid in the rest of the Country, just take the "common sense" cautions.
3. Have fun !
