Tough to say. The Cardinals future looks a lot brighter w/Leinhart and the good receiving core. But I really see no positives with Detroit. Both teams need a better coaching staff and more focus on the defensive side of the ball. So I guess they are bad for the same reasons but the Cardinals will be good before the Lions.

No, the Lion are bad because there personnel men led by there GM Matt Millen are bad evaluaters of talent. This has led to bad draft choices and free agent signings. The Cardinals on the other hand have drafted well and signed some good free agents they have been badly coached for the last 3 years. They have the talent to make the postseason next season in my opinion.

No. The Cardinals look like they are getting on track to be a playoff team soon. Leinart, James, 2 great receivers, improved D.
The Lions look terrible and it seems like they might not make the playoffs for at least 5 years. Millen is so awful, I can't believe he is still in the NFL. They make terrible draft choices, terrible free agent signings, and of course besides the Raiders, the worst management in all of the NFL.

The Lions are bad because the Ford family and Matt Millen refuse to spend money on quality free agents.
The Cardinals should get better and they seem to be making an effort these days.

Cards will "get better" sooner, but I think I'd say yes. Both fueled offenses @ skill position rather than getting O-linemen or a general stable defense. However, while Lions got many bust WRs, the cards picked up a pretty talented offense (though I disagree w/best core --that would be Colts with Harrison, Wayne and Stokely/Clark). However, Card's line is strangly a great deal better at pass-blockign than they are run-blocking (they need to get a LT then move Davis over to G). Once they can run, they will do a considerable amount better.

No.
Lions Bad: Injuries, poor drafting, no interior O-line, lack of vision.
Cards Bad: coaching, execution.
The Lions when healthy will still have no interior line, vision or drafting acumen (as long as Millen stays).
The Cards have all the pieces in place to win soon. They have one of the most dynamic WR combos (three deep), a stud RB and a QB who looks able to handle the job. Not to mention the nicest stadium in the league.
Lions futility continues for years, while the Cards get up off the mat soon.

No. The lions continue to make moves that don't help their team. Their draft picks, signings and coaching just aren't any good. The Cardinals seem to make good moves, but never seem to get the production out of them.

I dont think so. Neither team has an offensive line worth squat and both defenses are suspect. At least with the Cardinals, their front office and drafting isnt nearly as poor as the Cardinals.

Lions are bad because of Matt Millien, but the Cardinals are bad because of bad coaching and young players

In a matter of speaking.....They are bad because of the front office. Lions need to get rid of Millan......The Cards owner sucks.........Same thing with the raiders......The Raiders need a new owner. Al Davis doesn't let the coaches do their jobs and then he fires them when his expectations aren't met...What a loser.......I wish he would sell to Steve Young and Brent Jones' group....They would have the raiders turned around within a couple of years....Look at the niners they finally got in a good coach and they are giving him control to put the team back the way it should be....The front office can really screw a team up..
