I think that the GOV was smart! They LET rumors fly about aliens, to help cloak the spending there! I mean think about it, if the GOV was over spending, or just spending a lot on what the public would consider frivolous, then their pet project(s) would not "be". so, with rumors flying, and a lot of delusional people saying "I have been abducted", it makes the compound less open to be scrutinized by the public. Just my opinion.........

I've talked to people who I consider reliable sources and I've seen a lot of documenteries on the subject. From what I've seen, heard and read, I have reason to believe that their was more than just a weather balloon at Roswell. Exactly what, I cannot say for sure. I can only speculate.

But I think, even though the government may be keeping this information classified, the government may feel it may be in our best interests.

There are several scenarios about what really exists as far as aliens and spacecraft in the American southwest. In one scenario, the unknown objects are experimental military aircraft. In another, military personnel apprehended a "spacecraft" at Roswell and killed the pilots or inhabitants of the craft. The reason for this would be to protect the general public from any viruses, bacteria, etc..., that the aliens were carrying, that we have no physical defense against. Epidemics are something we cannot take a chance of happening.

As far as top secret military aircraft, we must keep any new technology secret in order to avoid any potentially adversaries from obtaining a weapon that they can use against us that is equal or superior to ours. Anyone who has experienced war or is an historian knows this to be true.

Then we have all the hollywood movies depicting life in outer space, from galaxies long ago and far away to invading "unfriendly aliens" and the space battles that follow. Star Wars, E.T., Star Trek, Starship Troopers, Aliens, Men in Black, Fire in the Sky, Contact, Communion, Signs, Independence Day, The Abyss, The Arrival, the list seems virtually endless. At some point, we have to realize that, if we survive the next 100 years here on earth without any major setbacks, we will undoubtedly be in space on a much larger scale. Then aliens WE shall be, no? And the Roswell mystery will probably be solved and forgotten by then, if it hasn't already.

In early July 1947, a strange object reportedly crashed about 75 miles northwest of the city on a ranch, leaving a large field of debris. The local air base at Roswell investigated after the rancher first reported it to Roswell authorities on July 6.

**********On July 8, the Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) announced it had recovered a "flying disk".*********************

A few hours after the initial "flying disk" press release, U.S. Army Air Force officials stated that it was not a UFO, but a weather balloon. When the question of what crashed was revived in the early 1980s, the "Roswell Incident" became a focus of conspiracy theorists, "abductees," and UFO investigators.

(I belive it was a UFO)

My best guess is that a secret military craft that crashed and the army or airforce covered it up as a weather balloon.

I don't think it was an alien craft .

A climate balloon crashed. What they have at section fifty one in Roswell, New Mexico is a stick. that's approximately 3 ft long with black felt marker writing on the area, and that's related to a triangular piece of a climate balloon (the textile seems very equivalent to the reflective helium balloons you ought to purchase at an amusement park). the unique checklist replaced into that there replaced into an excellent sort of the reflective textile on the floor on the crash scene, yet no one cared to p.c.. any of it up. a team of workmen from the backside got here and wiped sparkling it up at a later time. heavily. each and every thing else replaced into extraordinary lies from those that have been given into the thrill of mendacity with regard to the meant alien deliver crash internet site. The question approximately Roswell is why human beings went into such an uproar approximately it - believing that an alien deliver had crashed there rather. tries to debate the region get no longer something yet accusations of governmental hide up. human beings deliver hundreds of thousands (particular, hundreds of thousands) of faked pictures of alien deliver encounters. Radio stations are plagued with calls approximately alien deliver sitings and abductions. by way of each and all the shouting, no one is prepared to settle for the undeniable fact that there replaced into no alien deliver. that's a very unusual concern with united states of america of america, and one government business enterprise related it to LSD and different drugs affecting our society, yet as a approaches returned as we are in a position to tell with tips from recorded background, human beings enjoy pretending problems with that nature. Psychologically, we be counted on a sprint bit fantasy, and united states of america of america isn't prepared to allow bypass of the single with regard to the alien deliver's.

One thing I'm pretty sure happened at Roswell was my birth. No kidding, I was born there.

None of the above. Just testing military aircraft, some of which crash. More fun to believe in conspiracies etc, but it just is not that exciting.
IMHO

It was definitely more than a weather balloon, but we probably will never know the truth.
