If you're in the UK, there are some tiny cold sore covering pads that look like they work. I haven't tried them.
They are made by "Compeed" and I do know the blister cover-ups for the feet worked so well that I was able to complete the London Marathon by using one of them on a blister the size of a 50 pence piece. I couldn't feel a thing.
Look for these cold sore pads at Boots or Superdrug.
Here's a link:

They look like they could help if you put your make-up OVER the patch.

I think that it makes it look bigger... I hate cold sores! I would get some Abreeva, or Herpecin and just use that for a couple days... If you put concealer over it i think it makes it look more noticeable... and if you put lipgloss or lipstick over it make sure you dont use it when it goes away. =-) hope that helps.

You should use a green base then cover it with a concealer. The grean wil cut out the redness and allow the concealer to better hide it. The only thing is, throw that stuff out after you use it. If you use it again, you will probably get another cold sore.

You need to buy some cold sore treatment to help it go away. I would suggest chap stick cold sore treatment. It numbs it so it don't hurt. If you put lipstick over it than it will contaminate your lipstick and when you use it again it will just give you another one. So, it won't hurt it to put lipstick over it but be prepaired to throw it away.
