I'm planning a trip to Europe this summer and came across Ryanair.com. I was instantly enthralled with the low prices, but was wondering what the service and flight is like. Any experiences?

Ryanair are fine. It's basic, and you have to pay for any extras like food and drink but they are fine.

People will moan about them but essentially they are fine.

Do bear in mind they have quite low luggage weight allowances though and will charge you for going over and I believe there are extra charges if you are in a wheelchair etc

But for good old fashioned basic service - A-B, they are fine.

But for low-cost european airlines also visit: thomsonfly.com , easyjet.com, wizzair.com (for poland and hungary etc) and flybe.com as these are all low cost airlines very similar to ryanair.

Try www.opodo.com who will search for the cheapest flight prices for you - sometime it can be surprising who are cheapest. I searched to go to Prague and BA were cheaper than Czech Airlines!

Also remember that many of the airports they fly into are not the main airports. If you fly to Sweden, for example, you will not fly into the main Stockholm airport, but one 100km outside the city. Just something to be aware of.

True that their luggage restrictions are really low.

Train is also a great way to travel Europe.

Don't use Ryanair! EasyJet's better, Ryanair just tries to rip you off, they won't let you bring liquids on board so that you buy there expensive drinks, they lie and they're just unhelpful and anti-social.
