i think, that if they were condemed to die, then they should take them into the room and inject them will that stuff that kills you. why wait 30 years. Charles Manson should be long gone by now. they even let him out to do a movie (the heart is deceitful, above all things). we prolly wouldn't have very many murderers, if they were condemed to die, and actually died because of their crimes, instead of old age.

Y the death row is way too long because if they are not executed they will die peacefully in their sleep. I think when they are found guilty they should be shot at the spot. When they are waitng on death row they try convince everyone that they are innocent. then all the people protest their execution. If they were killed right away there there won't be any chance for that.

These people stay in jail for years because their lawyers file appeal after appeal after appeal, and there's no laws that limit the number of appeals that can be filed. Nor is there a law that says each appeal must be heard and decided in a timely manner, so these lawyers put in for delay after delay after delay...get the picture? At least there is now a Federal law that says criminals cannot profit from their crimes or the resulting notoriety, so if Charles Manson writes a bestseller about his murders and his time in prison he'll never see a dime of it.

All those appeals are not a bad idea, considering they are now finding after the states have been forced to supply DNA testing to death row inmates that 10% are actually innocent. Your way would insure thousands of executions of the innocent over the years... Is THAT reasonable?

There are a number of people on Death Row who did not have the financial resources for a proper defense. In my home state of Alabama, there have been five men on Death Row who were found innocent.
Once one has been executed, they cannot be brought back to life.
There are no millionaires on Death Row. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Given the chance (and it has happened multiple times) of killing someone who is later found innocent (through new technology, DNA for example)... wouldn't it be wise to keep them around for a while to be sure nothing new surfaces? They are entitled to many appeals too, again to be sure they really are guilty, and this can take a very long time, especially in our backed up courts...

Because our legal system allows them appeals and such.
What if someone was wrongly convicted, sentenced and put to death, only to find out 6 months later they were innocent
