David Beckham has made a sesible decison when based upon finances. He has milked the deal for every penny. In terms of playing, i think he's took a very cowardly way out. Rather than coming back to England and forcing his way back into the national side, he's gone off to America. Beckham that he won't have to play at 100% to get into the side.

I wish he'd have taken a pay cut, and come back to play in the premiership. Proven that he could still make it at the top.

I think LA Galaxy have made a bad decision in taking him on. I'm sure that it will do wonders for their repuation, but lets look at the facts.

Beckham is at 31, and not getting any younger. All though never known for his pace, he will get slower and slower each year.

its a 5 year contract, so it looks as if Galaxy will still be forced to play him at 36 regardless of his performances.

A recently imposed rule in the MLS stats that only one player can earn more than $15,000 per week. I doubt that the striker whos scoring all the goals is going to be too happy knowing that Beckham, way past his best, is earning masses more than him!

But in terms of whats best for David Beckham and his bank balance, hes hit the jack pot, no doubt.

For Beckham yes, for Soccer yes. The LA Times newspaper is saying the league is only paying him $10 million and the rest is from sponsorships, endorsements and profit sharing. In other words Beckham will be on billboards and ads for years to come.

You can't say whether it's the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do. It's not even important. What matters is what he wants to do...This is a decision that he has made, depsite if people think it's wrong or right.
