I question is this:
Even altho almost every single wrestling fan knows the truths about it, the facts regarding the predetermined results and the attempts to make all the moves are painless as possible, why do people INSIST on telling you over and over again how "Fake" it is. Im sorry but we know the truth alot better than you do and if you cant appreciate the skill and athleticism involved in the SPORT/entertainment then you are the ones who are diluding yourselfs. Ok this is more of a rant, but some of you must have somethin to say about this??

The use of the word "fake" is part of the problem. You can not place bets on wrestling that is how we know for sure that its predetermined. And as the results are fixed we can also say straight way that the aim of the show is not to cause pain to the apponent. That is as far as the "fake" word goes. There are major injurys, there is an extreme amount of stamana required, the slaps are slaps... i could go on but the point is wrestlers work as hard as your next sports man/woman... all i need to say its one of the areas of discussion i love to get into with sum half wit who does not hav a clue what they are talkin bout... Because if they will listen you can always get them to see the light :)

The results are predetermined, the fueds are all well writen out, and moves are made to protect the wrestlers as much as posible. We all know it. The tables that are set up around ring side? They are put there to slow down the wrestlers falls if only for just a second. If you know anything about physics you will understand that the table act as sort of a cusion to the wrestlers. But let me just ask those who say that it is fake. The next time you have a chance to stand ontop of a 30 ft. cage and jump off of it onto a 7 by 4 square ft table like Mick Foley did, please do... and tell me it's fake. Or more recently, if you want to get a 14 inch cut on your back that goes all they way down to your ribs and still compete for another 20 min like Bob Holly did, please do... and tell me it's fake.

It's only "fake" in the context of other sports; considering the amount of physical effort, improvisation, and teamwork the wrestlers have to put into every show, it's a lot more real than your average TV show. It sucks that everybody tries to paint wrestling as simple-minded entertainment for gullible idiots, but so-called "reality" shows like Flava Of Love or Survivor or whatever get a free pass even though they are obviously heavily scripted and manipulated.
Me, I enjoy it even more now that I'm older. It was fun being a young mark, but being an adult smark has its advantages too. You can play "armchair booker" with the storylines, appreciate the heels as much as the faces, and applaud a well-scripted heel turn instead of thinking one of your heroes just betrayed you.

Thank you! It's great to hear somebody with actual reason in this damn place! All I have ever heard, since I started watching wrestling when I was 4, was that it was fake. I knew it but I loved it. I can't get enough ofi t. So, thank you for attempting to knock some sense into these idiots who harass us all the time. :)

I love wrestling all of it i dont carethat is fake its the best thing going today and will be around long after all Vince mcmahon has built and empire and they dont fall real easy I will be watching wrestling and passing it on to my kids
