It depends upon the person. Some are stronger and more resilient than others. It depends upon their belief system and spiritual beliefs as well. sometimes people who have strong spiritual faith seem to be better able to handle life's ups and downs.

Mostly I think that people who are able to look at life as a journey, a process, and accept that there will always be rough patches, are able to work through all of them and plan a recovery from whatever the rough patch is. Where there is life there is always hope. When our lives are touched by serious events, it can be almost overwhelmingly hard to rise from feeling oppressed and knocked down, but the human psyche is strong.

So I don't think there is any definitive number that answers your question. Something that has helped me throughout my life in times of adversity and despair, and there have been many of those times, is Desiderata. It is at the link I've included. Best of luck.

This is a subjective question. As such there is no correct answer.

What may seem like a bad knock to one person is not the same to another.

I have found that to find relief of one's own suffering requires reseting of one's own mind set. Another words stop focusing on yourself and focus somewhere else . . . generaly this is focusing in on helping others.

Well, I think that how you handle bad knocks is subjective. I think that sometimes ones issues seem beyond our control and yes sometimes one feel that we losing it due to circumstance. Personally, I think the human mind can take lots of knocks before eventualy giving in... The way we process our knocks are the trick to keep you from going nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it all depends on the person and how tough minded they are. If you are right with God you can get through anything. Even though you may not think it's possible it is. You just have to know that there are better days ahead as long as it may take, there are better days and there is a purpose for everything.

You will get through them even though it doesn't seem like it now. I was going through an extremely rough time a few years ago and I thought I'd never live through it. I was actually contemplating suicide. I was in a custody battle and losing, to an abusive man who had $$. A series of events happened and I thought it would never make it through.

for some people it could be just one serious event... for others they just keep getting back up....

Serious events in my life include a whole range of horrid things that could happen to a human being but here I am still with my mind.....

It depends on the person. It is important to have a positive outlook. Always pray because the Lord is the one who can carry you through this.
