you can see what happen to the dog after the credits, those people, make the dog their chief. if you waited long enough, you will see it, its quite short, but i think its funny.
oh and do you know that in the first film, after the credits, captain Babossa's monkey go and steal one more gold out of the chest that's why that monkey is still cursed.

It seemed they were implying the natives were out for blood (dinner?), and with their original quarry escaping, they had to catch something.
Would be fun to make adventure/pursuit footage of that dog running through the jungle as well-- leaping across cliffs, swinging on vines, that sort of thing.
Hopefully he escapes. I would want to give my own dog at least that kind of fighting chance, if not just in fiction. ;)

I know this is over 9 years ago but really that dog is fine now. In the fourth movie, he was somehow rescued and Jack's father has him as his pet. Lol he was the only one who able to get the dog to hand it over the keys.

After the credits it shows the dog sitting on a throne, decorated like a chief.

After the credits, there's a scene where the dog is now the chief. I got the idea that he was the REAL chief, so they won't eat him because he is not a human, but who knows?

He pops up again after the credits roll up.
Rent/buy the DVD and watch it to the very end. Same as the first film and the monkey pops up again at the end.

There wasn't an ending to that scene. Maybe in the next movie we'll find out? I wanna know too! lol

I thought because of how they looked at it the idea was that it was going to be their next chief, like Johnny depp was. so that eventually they might try to eat it but first they were going to worship it for awhile
