The statements:
"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price," Boxer said. "My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young."
Then, to Rice: "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family."
I'm having a hard time understanding how an attack on Rice is being gleaned from this at all. I understand that sometimes comments get twisted to escalate a more dramatic conclusion than the one intended and its clear this has happened here. First Boxer admits SHE is not going to pay a price, due to the ages of her children and grandchildren. That's clear enough. Then, she also points out that Rice isn't going to pay a personal price either because of lack of immediate family. What is so wrong about that? It's true enough, and she acknowledged that she is no different in that regard - neither one of them will pay a price involving immediate family. The question still remains unanswered - who will pay the price?
Reading between the lines to draw whatever conclusion one wants, as the openly conservative New York Post had done - can go both ways. I could draw the conclusion that she meant to remind Rice to think harder about the families who ARE paying the price for Bush's incompetence. It's typical that the far right would immediately read what they want to between those lines and label it a direct attack on Rice for not having children when clearly Boxer's remarks refer to the families that DO pay a price, and she uses not just Rice, but also HERSELF as an example of who is not paying that price.

Democrats aren't expected to apologize for anything. Hell will freeze over first. This is just another example of a Democrat showing how they REALLY feel about things - not just what they PRETEND to think in front of the cameras. Boxer is a lunatic and always has been.
Look at Pelosi - another example of Dems saying this but doing that... read below:
subsidiary Starkist Tuna employs three-fourths of the work force in American Samoa. Del Monte is based in San Francisco, Pelosi's home district.
The minimum wage is $3.62 per hour in American Samoa, and would remain so under the bill, Shadegg said. The House bill, which would raise the U.S. minimum wage from $5.15 per hour to $7.25 per hour, did include the Northern Marana Islands.
Shadegg said the Samoan/Starkist exemption is fishy.
"Simply put: It is unethical to provide a special benefit to a company in any member of Congress' hometown," he said. "For Democrats to act in such a manner so early on in their tenure is hypocritical at best, and criminal at worst," said Shadegg.
See - they are all the same - Dems and Repubs alike... get them all out of office, I say. Time for a revolution....
rumiñaui - you are a piece of ****. Baron spinster? You are either the same or married to a total idiot and have the offspring to prove it.

Rice appeared before the Senate in defense of President Bush's tactical change in Iraq, and quickly encountered Boxer.
"Who pays the price? I'm not going to pay a personal price," Boxer said. "My kids are too old, and my grandchild is too young."
Then, to Rice: "You're not going to pay a particular price, as I understand it, with an immediate family."
If that's insulting to Rice, she shouldn't be in politics. While I do agree with conservatives that it is an unnecessary jab, that's unfortunately what passes for politics in this country: FROM BOTH SIDES

OK, I'll be the one to defend Boxer:
One of the most arrogant, glib statement from Rice came when she said the lives that have been expended in Iraq are "worth the investment". This, of course, is the lives of other people and other people's children. There is a Republican congressman (can't remember the name) who lamented that more of the people who so fervently support this war do not have family members in the armed services let alone in Iraq! His son is a Marine in Iraq.
I do believe that if more of these gung-ho war supporters had children or close relatives in harm's way they might feel differently about their lives being an "investment".

OMIGOD! Condi doesn't have children? You mean like Cheney's lesbian daughter??
I don't have children either I guess Im a lesbian too (well, actually thats true, I'ma lesbian trapped in a man's body).
While Boxer obviously lacked finesse, her statements are true are they not? Will any of Bush's children be going to Iraq to fight? How about Cheney's? How about all the Senator and Representatives sons and daughters? Out of ALL our elected representatives, only ONE had a son in the Marines in Afghanistan, ONE.
Is this what you consider to be "leadership by example"?

obviously not. She lives in her self righteous marketing campaign so why ought to she ought to act like she has any class and exhibit regret. it is high-quality although all of it comes round would not it? I do desire that Mrs. Boxers relatives are in solid wellbeing because they dont look so healthful by marvel.

Boxer was 100% correct: as a barren spinster, Rice does not have any stakes in the future of the USA, hence she does not care about it, and it shows.

I watched the entire hearing and I cant see how rice didnt jump over the table and attack her. there was NO constructive information or questions coming from her she used her short time (that she turned into a long time) to rant. Its no wonder nothing gets done in todays politics.
