I fell through the attic floor in my old house and came through in the hallway. That's my only real experience, whether or not its technically a 'conversion' Im not sure, but I did convert the hall ceiling into a hole.

Depends. Not worth having one unless you have proper access - a staircase rather than a ladder. Also, there's some loop hole around them that I can't quite remember, but it's something like it doesn't add any value to your house, as it doesn't actually count as another bedroom. I'm sure in reality it would add something to your house, though probably not as much as having an extenstion. Would also advise that you definately get a window put in the roof.

I had one done it was red hot in summer and ice cold in winter!. Might as well actually sleep on the roof wont notice the difference!.

stressful. find a friend who has had one done and ask if they would recommend their company. Keep trying until you find a good recommendation.
