NO....for several reasons....

1. The one thing that makes the US armed forces so strong is that it is all volunteer, and it takes a special kind of person to do that. And not everyone has it.....

2. Just because you support the troops does not mean you support the war.

3. I did not support going in however, now that we have, we need to funish what we started. I don't like war...but we have to finish or things will only get worse.

4. There are some of us who can't for a number of reasons....health, age,

I'm here so I guess that gives me full reason to support the war and tell you how stupid that question is.

Do people who go to the doctor have the duty to become one?

Do people who support the local police department have the duty to become a cop?

Do people who send their garbage do the curb have a duty to become a garbage man?

You're question is so irrelevant that I almost didn't answer it, except that it is still worth 2 points....

If I had a nickel for every time this has been asked here...I'd have a mountain of nickels.

Short answer, personally, if I could go back, I would in a heartbeat. The fact I am 55 won't let me though. But if that changed? Hell yes I would. I'm proud to be American and am more than happy to stand in for those who are too lily livered to do their part.

No, but there is an ethical obligation to not brand people who disagree as not supporting the troops, or being unpatriotic.

After all, lip service is easy, so unless they are willing to put "skin in the game," to attack others like they often do is chickenhawk patriotism.

Well some of us are a bit too old to go back into the military.

Although if I was young enough, I would go back in. Although that decision is up to those folks to make for themselves.

It depends on a lot of things. Not all of us are eligible. Some have prior obligations (something we at least understand). And some are getting a little education first.
