I agree with tfrogger 100%! This is a potentially very dangerous medication even for adults to take. Too many potential adverse effects. I know it is tough and exhausting to have a colicky baby, but it will pass eventually. I like the old remedies. The swaddling, the warm water bottle/warm pack on the abdomen, a warm bath, gas drops and car rides. The doctor needs to make sure that the baby is not having a reaction to something in the food also. Some colicky babies have been swithed to a soy based formula with relief. Before you decide on this med, please get all your facts. Speak yo your doctor further and/or speak to a pharmacist. Good luck!

Some pediatricians might prescribe anti-spasmatic medication such as dicyclomine or hyoscyamine, because they're trying to help you find some relief. Our pediatric expert believes this medication is potentially dangerous; there are some reports of apnea, brain damage, seizures and even death. While they were the only drug that on double blind studies seem to be better than placebo, we believe the risks are too high.

I've never personally used this medicine, but my daughter had colic and I wouldn't have given her this medication. We swaddled her, gave her lots of gas drops, and had loads of patience. But if the pills are what you choose, you should talk to a doctor to get a better understanding of the medicine, before even considering giving it to your child.
