When I was pregnant I was told 200 mg of caffine a day is fine Coffee has about that per cup and should be avoided during pregnancy but sodaa has about 35-50 mg per 12 oz. a soda a day is fine. I totally understand I had to get that one soda a day just for a treat when I was pregnant with my daughter. Good Luck on the pregnancy and Congratulations.

While caffeine free soda is better than stuff with caffeine, no soda is actually good for you. One can a day isn't going to do any harm though, even with caffeine, especially if you don't drink coffee and you drink a lot of water. I'll have a Dr. Pepper if I'm eating out, but I'll also keep root beer at home to have with dinner. (Pizza and orange juice just don't mix, y'know?)

my doctor told me that it is okay to drink soda, just dont let that be the only thing you drink. I mean try to limit yourself to one or two a day (i would go with one). But make it is a treat to yourself.

Like my problem I wanted to drink soda also, but if I drink lots of water all day, I'll treat myself with a soda at dinner. Or if I go out for lunch I'll get a medium soda and try to limit myself to drinking about half of it.

The reason it is frowned upon to drink soda is the caffine and caffine is bad for the baby. So if you can drink caffine free sodas, like sprite, you can drink a bit more.

When I found out I was pregnant I quit drinking soda cold turkey (I was a heavy dr. pepper drinker). And it wasn't as hard as I had imagined, It is more harder to give up the sweets for me. But after drinking nothing but water, all I want is a soda, or juice.

Just keep trying to refrain from drinking soda, cuz if you can quit now, you can stay off of it after you have the baby and I think it will be easier to loose the extra weight. At least for me, I'm going to go on a huge diet after I have my baby because I'm already (pre pregnancy) at least 60 lbs overweight of where I would perfer to be.

I would drink water all day when I was pregnant and at about dinner time I would treat my self to a cup ( 8 oz ) of a diet soda ( like diet pepsi or diet dr. pepper) Too much soda while you're pregnant is not good for you but in moderation you should be ok. Good luck and congratulations.

Two cups of caffeine a day will not hurt you. I drink water constantly too even before i was pregnant so every now and then i need a little something. It's a craving, have a little and i'm sure you'll feel a lot better and be back to drink your water.

The conserns with soda is the caffine. If you can drink caffine free than I would recomend that, but if not a can of soda everyonce in a while wont hurt, just keep it limited

It would be better to NOT drink soda. Your body is beginning to crave something. Ask it what healthy thing would satisfy. Celery? Carrot juice? Get some REAL SALT or CELTIC SEA SALT or some other natural salt. Most salt sold is purified sodium chloride. There are 13 other minerals in sea water, and you need them all!
