Local schools and churches often have craft fairs, and if you live in a larger city there are often art fairs and stuff in the summer. Maybe check with your local chamber of commerce?

Also, some places will provide you with a table to display on, some won't. If it's an outdoor art fair, you sometimes also have the option of renting a tent for the day, with or without walls, etc. Be careful about these kind of things. Sometimes you can get charged exorbitant amounts of money for things that aren't really necessary.

It's too easy. Just keep a look out for upcoming events then call the event center or coordinator and reserve a booth. There is usually a $10-30 fee.

Bring a couple of folding tables and some pet-print cloth to cover them. And get you a little cash box.

My mom does it and she always has business cards (that she makes on the computer) to hand out. She also custom makes stuff on request.

There's also a bunch of info and tips on doing shows, and just generally on doing crafts as a business, on these pages of my site:

(my site is primarily about polymer clay, but many of the same principles would apply to any "craft" business)

Good luck!

Barbara Brabec covers this subject in some of her books. Check your local library for her titles.
