I want to get a Xbox 360 from ebay. I keep seeing "as is" premium Xbox 360s that have the circle problem with them. I wouldn't mind buying one of those as long as there is a easy way to exchange it at my local wal-mart or target for cheap to free, or send it in to Microsoft without any problems. I know all the trouble ebay can be, but I have decided that this method can work out if I find the right seller. Does anybody have any tips on questions I should ask the seller or any tips in general? Also please I know the Wii or PS3 might be better but I want a 360.

Also would it matter if I didn't have the receipt for it?

First of all you can't buy ANYTHING from eBay, eBay doesn't sell stuff. You buy things through eBay from an eBay member.

Any right of return you would have would be through that member.

Why should a local store take it back if you didn't buy it from them?

You may or may not have any warranty from the manufacturer.

-actually first is make sure that the one you are buying from ebay is not yet tampered or modified because microsoft cant do anything or cannot repair your console if it is already modified, what i mean is if the inner components are already opened.

-you could just tell people from xbox that you bought that from ebay, and your the new owner

-but regarding the accessories (controllerharddrive, cables, etc,) i think you need to provide a receipt if youre going to make it replaced

you will need a reciept to return it anywhere. the microsoft warranty is really short, the original owner has probablly tried that route thats why its for sale as is, just save some more cash and buy a new one rather than someone elses broken junk

If you don't have a reciept your only option if going to be microsoft. They are going to charge you and maybe even run the serial # to see if it was stolen. Most stores will require a receipt though.
