Pedophiles are afflicted with a disease that destroys there ability to recognize that what they are doing or want to do as wrong and shouldn't be done, for them it's wrong and they can't see a reason why they shouldn't do it because it makes them feel good. I don't believe that a pedophile can change, although that doesn't mean that they don't want to. There may be some kind of fluid imbalance in the brain that might be able to be cured or balanced out but medical science just hasn't progressed this far yet.

Most emphatically no, it's a mental illness and like most requires meds and like most meds they don't automatically make everything "normal" again. There are always some aspects of a mental illness which will require some adjusting to..................pedophiles.............gee whiz.......maybe they can change if they are incredibly focused and as stubborn as hell.......you have to remember you're dealing with chemical imbalances here, spose it would depend on the person........:)

I don't feel that pedophiles can change their feelings; however, they can be rehabilitated to the point that they don't act on their feelings. Through proper treatment recidivism in pedophiles can be reduced greatly, nearing 75%.

They will always have an attraction for younger people, but they can learn the consequences of getting caught, the impact they have on their victims, and coping methods to help them never re-offend.
It's like an alcoholic who will always want another drink but learns to live life sober, one day at a time.

I think most people can change. But I don't think mental health issues can just be wished away.
What is needed is a true desire to change; combined with intensive therapy and probably medication.
Even with all of this in place careful monitoring would be required.

You can't change their attraction to kids, but you can try to change their behavior. It's like telling me being attracted to adult women is wrong and you can't touch them and you need to stop having those thoughts about them. I may be able to control the touch part, but the thought will never go away.

The Holy Spirit can change anyone and everyone in very surprising ways.
But if the person in question is closed to it, He can do no good. Depends if he wants to bad enough.
