I find that the real benefit is often in the personal satisfaction and even therapy of doing the answers. Often there is a fun and entertainment aspect to it as well, particularly in some of the more light hearted categories. Just keep answering. You'll find the benefit for you, and in continuing to answer, you may also benefit a few other people along the way. Best of luck and take care. Continue to enjoy Yahoo Answers.

When I saw the giant number of points needed to go from Level 5 to Level 6 I wasn't going to bother keeping going. When I'd get bored, though, I'd find myself answering again; and before I knew it I was making my way through that next 5000. (I have never, ever, cared about the points anyway; but seeing the number change in the box apparently had its effect on me.)
Before I knew it I was half-way through that 5000 points; so then I started to kind of watch them add up. As I got to a few hundred points away from Level 6 I decided to put a push on to get there; but now I'm considering Level 6 the end.
Getting to Level 7 would require - what - like another 10,000 points? Forget it. I am going to consider myself a permanent Level 6-er and call it a day.
I think you should be happy with Level 5 and let any other levels happen if/when they happen. Who needs more than Level 5 anyway!!

The continuing satisfaction of being able to help people with our knowledge and ability to search for and organize information is not a bad goal to have.
Technology has afforded us the unique opportunity to spread our knowledege and share our beliefs and ideas with hundred if not thousands through our writing that only takes a few minutes of effort each time. Before the cyber age, we'll need to have our articles or books published to have such an influence; the privilege only experienced by a very small number of people...
