Try several differnt kinds of cups. One of mine couldn't figure out the straw - two prefered it. Some of the "nuby" cups are soft topped like a nipple, I started one on these because of that similarity but switched soon since it was a messy cup.

While it is messy you can show her first with a real cup or remove the spillproof device. Kids have to suck really hard to get a drink otherwise, and may not be able to firgure out there is juice in there. It will drool all over them so toss her in the high chair to try it.

My son is 8 1/2 months old and has been using the sippy cup for about 2 weeks now. What I did was first I would put water in the cup and see if he would take it. I would try about once a week. I started at about 6 months or so. I kept trying until one day he started drinking from the cup.

When both of my daughters were 12 months i took away the bottle and gave them sippie cups. They were confused at first, but soon took to it easily. They didn't have a choice. Also, you need to start introducing a regular cup not long after that. I learned that after my first daughter would not give up her sippie cup. She was five when i finally threw them all away. My youngest started taking a regular cup not long after learning to take the sippie cup. We use regular cups at home, and sippie cups when we have to go somewhere. She is 2 and still makes a mess sometimes.

I started by letting my daughter take little sips out of my cup, then I would but either water or milk in a bottle and sippy cup and let my daughter choose, since I was letting her drink out of my cup she always went for the cup, except at nap and bed time I gave her the bottle by the time she was a year old she no longer took the bottle. Good luck.

Just stick with it. Always give her the sippy when he wants/needs something to drink. If you think she's not getting enough to drink then give her the bottle.
She will play with the sippy cup for a while. It's new and different. She will bite it. It's all exploration for her. Your doing great; just keep it up. Don't give in and she will be off sooner than you think.

All three of my boys were off the bottle completely before there 1st birthday. By 9 months they just used one before bed.

WALMART!!!!!! they have cups with tops shaped similar to bottles, start with the soft tops and work your way up. again I can't say it enough, they have them everywhere, WALMART!!!!!!
I took my daughter off bottles at 7 months and because she was so young she did not know the difference. It was easy because she was a breast fed baby and only was on the bottle for about 4 months total.

I got my daughter the ones with the soft spouts and very colorful. Nuby's are the ones i got i think. They worked for her. Try several different ones, let her decide which one she is more comfortable with.

get one that doesn't pour too fast on her. Don't over fill and also make sure it has handles on both sides.
