i just got my first car, and im buying a car radio/cd player. But since i mostly use an ipod for music, i need to makesure that there is an imput for mp3 players. Do most cd players come with this? im looking at the Sony CDXGT200 and it says its a "CD/Radio with MP3 Playback" but i have a feeling this just means it will play mp3's off a cd.
my budget is £100 and i need to find one pronto. Any ideas on the right terms to look for or even a good model.

Thanks a load.

yes this will only play mp3 cds. you need to look for one that has mp3 player connectivity. Halfords do a few at £99 i think that do this. maybe check out their web site. Or look for one that has an input jack that fits a headphone type connector. Much more of these about, I have an aiwa one that retails for about £60. Tha tway you can plug mp3 in to the front with theright connector(same as lead that connects a pc sound card to monitor speakers)
Other option is a head unit with a usb port in the front but these are coming in at about £130

The things you'll want to look for are either an 1/8" headphone jack or a USB port on the front, a pair of RCA hookups in the back, or (at the very least) a tape deck. Those are the four means by which you'll be able to directly connect your digital music player of choice to your new car stereo, though the RCA jack option will require that you get the cable installed along with the stereo so you don't have to pull it back out later.

I just got a cd player for my car for xmas and it was 99 bucks. It was a sony, with mps playback and it may very well be the very one you are looking at. It's from best buy and it has an auxilary plug that you can get a cord (for like 20 bucks) and hook it up to your ipod, walkman, whatever. It also displays the song and band names on the screen. Just call a store and ask them about it or go in and check it out.

Argos takes care of it man! Just get one with a USB port on the front and you simply plug your iPod into that. ;]
They are mostly under £90
