I think it depends on what you want out of life. There are very happy poor married couples because they love each so much. There are alos miserable rich married couples. Ideally, I'd like to have a combination of the two. If I was with someone that loved me unconditionally and vice versa, I would be ok with living a lesser lifestyle. So far in my life, I'd have to say that I've put education and money in front of love...but I'm only 27. I've been married for a year and a half and its been hell. We're both career oriented so the focus has always been on what material tings we have...house, cars, 4-wheelers, boat, etc., instead of each other. Therefore, our relationship greatly deteriorated and now I've moved out.

Marriage and love and commitment from first if not then dont even think of getting married.... Money and education does not buy love or marriage.....

Its all important.
Its not one or the other nor is it one more important.
If you both do not enjoy some intelligence, monetary security, some passion and love your marriage is already at a disadvantage.

No one thing is put above e/thing. It's e/thing combined. Love, respect, education, affection, consideration, financial responsibility..........the whole kitten caboodle. Do not marry, if you feel above or below another. It's that simple.

I think you need both. I have, in the past, struggled with this question as well. If you settle for one or the other you doing just that; settling.
