Why do they say life begins @ 40?

Whats so special about it? I was told women hit there sexual peak @ this age - well l'm 40 in April - wink wink

b/c @ 40 yours kids are old enough that u don't have to be with them every moment of every day...and yes sex is definitely better @40 and anyone who tells u differently is obviously not @ 40

I turned 40 3years ago. I have realised in the last three years that i have become more confident about life and about myself. I am more comfortable with who i am and where i am headed in life. I realised if people don't like me the way i am they are the ones with the problem. I don't worry about stuff so much- if its going to happen it will no matter how much worrying i do. I think, 'i have got this far- i can manage the rest'- i guess i am not afraid of life anymore. And yes sex is better- its not so rushed, don't have to keep quiet because of the kids, i know what i want and am not afraid to say. I became a sex kitten! I have a full time job and the money is all mine! I don't feel guilty spending it- i have had years of worrying about money- mmm shoes whenever i want! I have a nice car. And i don't put up with the crap other people hand out either. Yup- life is better- you go girl- enjoy it!!

Life does begin at 40. Most of your silly debts that you rung up when you were younger have been paid. The kids are old enough to look after themselves and if you have a long term relationship you are normally settled. Also you are a lot smarter and wiser as you would had quite a lot of expierences which you would have learnt from .All in all this means you can start going out and enjoying yourself again and doing the silly little things that you have always wanted to do.

Because several decades ago most people over forty were through raising children and could look after there own wants and needs. People back then married earlier and most of the children did not go to college. This meant that by forty the kids were grown and out of the house and were either working, drafted, or married. These days couples marry later, their children still live with them even after college, and their parents live longer so they are stuck taking care of two generations.

I hope it does i'm 40 in August. I can honestly say though i've had more fun these last couple of years than i did when i was younger so there must be some truth in it.

the sexual thing and in most cases it is about the age when the kids leave the home and you don't have to be as much of a parent. still be there for your kids but it is your time to live your own life again. 40 used to be considered old but i don't think it is. my mom is 45 now and she is the most fun to hang out with.

i think it's because the kids are grown, no more sleepless nights, no more nappies, the kids are independant and you are free, it's just another mile stone...when i reached 40 i didn't feel any different than being 39, just meant i was a year older, but it has it's perks, kids grown...more freedom...etc....about hitting our sexual peak..hmmmm not too sure about that....i hit mine in my early 30's

I think it's because you feel less stressed and worried.. I worried more in my 20's than I do now (I'm early 30's)

you are financially stable (usually) you are able to relate better to the opposite sex you are still active and life keeps getting better

im 54 so im WAY beyond 40
